Welcome To Courtney’s Bar, Home Of The Greatest Selection Of Drink In Killarney

Courtney's has been operating as a Public House since the late 1800s and remains in the ownership of Courtney family since that time. The classic and much photographed frontage is now protected whilst the bare wood interior retains the old world atmosphere of the traditional “Teach Tairbhne”

We're conveniently located in the heart of Killarney town on Plunkett Street, next to the taxis.

Whiskey of the Month

Jameson Black Barrel

Jameson Black Barrel is a tribute to the cooper’s method of charring barrels. Charring is an age old method for invigorating barrels, but these days we use double charred barrels by choice rather than through necessity. Time spent maturing in these barrels lends this whiskey intensified notes of vanilla sweetness and caramel, alongside toasted wood, fruit,

A triple distilled blend of small batch grain and traditional Irish pot still whiskeys, Jameson Black Barrel reveals untold richness and complexity. Every barrel contains secrets; the trick is coaxing them out. A triple distilled, twice charred, one of a kind.

Nose - Butterscotch and creamy toffee fudge

Taste - Nutty notes with spice & vanilla sweetness

Finish - Rich toasted wood & vanilla

Beer of the Month

Beer-of-the-month

Erdinger Oktoberfest

This seasonal beer offers a synergistic combination of two classic German styles, Oktoberfest and wheat beer; a surprising alliance that works very well together.

TASTING NOTES: Cloudy body with some amber hints. The head is frothy, pleasantly white and with a soft texture. Lacing starts with a series of rings but soon breaks into abstract art as the glass progresses. Residual carbonation is very lively. The wheat aroma with a fruit and clove hint combines with a strong malty flavour at the back . ERDINGER Oktoberfest blends the advantages of our well known wheat beer with the traditional Oktoberfest taste. A grainy flavour and lovely hoppiness. The feel and crispness of our wheat-based speciality with an Oktoberfest body.

FOOD PAIRING: The highly palatable ERDINGER Oktoberfest is not only a perfect complement to all hearty Oktoberfest dishes, such as roast chicken or cold cuts and bread, but also tastes great with juicy steaks or strong cheeses.

Perfect place to warm up with a pint near the fire. Courtney's has a huge selection of beers and ciders - definitely something for everyone.

Whenever I am in Killarney, I always stop off at Courtney's for a pint. In short, it is just a lovely spot .

Ireland

If I lived in Killarney, this would be my pub -- small, rustic, great beer selection. I'd be a regular.

Dave - North Carolina

Great cozy bar where you can buy 3 small glasses of beer if you can't make up your mind, or 4 whiskeys the same way.
