Sean Mac hosts this eclectic gig on Mondays @ Courtneys. A veteran of Killarney Music scene, he is regarded as one of our treasures and has a vast repertoire of songs (some original) and stories (all original!!). Lately he is joined by an eccentric group of musicians from all walks of life and the session is truly taking on a life of its own.
The Small Hours are a traditional folk and blues group. The Small Hours are a four piece that are fronted by husband and wife Sam and Ina White. They play everything from Mary Black to Radiohead. Ina is a fabulous singer and will keep the crowd wanting more, while Sam is an English folk and blues master and has recently released a new album called 'who's blues'.
Tim O' Shea is a veteran of the Traditional Music Scene with over 30 Years experience. He has produced many acclaimed Albums and regularly tours both Germany and the USA. Tim plays in the Sliabh Luchra style that he was brought up with and encourages younger musicians as he himself was mentored back in the day.
Tims Thursday night gig differs from the Wed gig in that he invariably invites different musicians which can lead to an entirely different musicial experience. Whichever night you catch him, you can be sure of top quality Trad from one of the leading exponents of the genre in the area.
Gerry Quigley & The Durty Blues Band
This Friday (16th Aug) we welcome back "Gerry Quigley & The Durty Blues Band" a band as the name would suggest, who specialize in Blues/ Rock. Gerry is a veteran of the Blues scene and a genuine virtuoso. (His trademark solo would be worth the entrance fee alone, if we had an entrance fee!!)
A real treat for Guitar enthusiasts!
D.J. Mike Leahy
Mike has been the resident D.J. in Courtneys for many years but don't feel that this means he has gone stale! Mike is a true music afficando and as such is constantly digging out fresh exciting new music to keep the Saturday night vibe going. He won't bore you with the sound of his own voice either!
